Troubleshooting

My booking page only shows our phone number

Section titled “My booking page only shows our phone number”

Online bookings are switched off, which is how every restaurant starts. Turn them on in Settings, Booking rules: see Go live.

Guests are only offered times you can really take. Check, in this order:

  1. Is it a day you’re closed? Check your closed days and holiday closures in Opening hours.
  2. Is the date too far ahead, or too soon? Check how many days ahead guests can book, and the notice you need, in Booking rules.
  3. Is the table time longer than your opening hours? The Booking rules page shows when your last booking starts. If it says guests can’t book online, shorten the table time or your break.
  4. Is the party too big? Check the maximum party size, and that a table or table join seats them.
  5. Are the tables blocked? Check Blocked tables.
  6. Is the pacing limit reached? Most guests arriving at once stops more guests booking a slot that’s already full.

Or you may simply be fully booked: look at the day on the Bookings page.

A guest is told to call us instead of booking online

Section titled “A guest is told to call us instead of booking online”

They’ve reached your no-show limit. You can still book them yourself with New booking.

The walk-in window only lists tables that are free now, aren’t blocked, and seat the party. A table with a booking soon is listed with how long it’s free.

Bookings are spread out and a big party won’t fit

Section titled “Bookings are spread out and a big party won’t fit”

On the Bookings page, in the Day view, press Smart rearrange.

Booking alerts go to your restaurant’s email address in Restaurant details, or to the email you sign in with if that’s empty. Check the address, then your spam or junk folder. Add our address to your contacts so future emails arrive in your inbox.

Guests don’t get confirmations or reminders

Section titled “Guests don’t get confirmations or reminders”

Check that Guest emails is on in Notifications, and that the booking has the guest’s email address. Ask the guest to look in their spam folder.

Review requests go out when a booking is set to Finished. If bookings stay Seated or Confirmed, no request is sent. See Reviews.

Changes are only kept when you press Save layout. See Lay out your floor plan.

Guests scan the QR code but can’t see a menu

Section titled “Guests scan the QR code but can’t see a menu”

Guests only see menus that are switched on and being served at that time. Check the menu’s serving times and that it’s active, and that its dishes are switched on and not sold out. See Menus and dishes.

Check Chime for new orders is on and the tablet’s volume is up. Browsers only play sound after someone has tapped the page, so tap the kitchen screen once when you open it.

Use the same email address you signed up with, or the same Google account. Each sign-in link we email works once: if one doesn’t work, ask for a new one. Look in your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.

Some pages are only for managers, such as settings, menus and the floor plan. Change their role in Your team if they need them.

Choose a plan and add a card on the subscription page to carry on. If you didn’t add a card during the trial, nothing was charged.

You changed your booking page address. The old address stops working, so update it on Google, Instagram and your website. See Your booking page.
